Paragraph 3. Prohibitory signs

• 17. Prohibitory signs introduce or repeal certain limits of the road traffic.
• 18. Prohibitory signs are the following:
• 3.1. No entry.
  
  Entry of vehicles is prohibited
• 3.2. Closed for vehicles.
  
  Traffic of vehicles is prohibited
• 3.3. No entry for power driven vehicles.
  
• 3.4. No entry for trucks.
  
  Traffic of trucks (road-trains) with technically permissible total mass of over 3.5 tonnes (unless the sign indicates mass) or its actual mass exceeding the one indicated on the sign, and also of wheeled tractors an self-propelled machines, is prohibited
• 3.5. No entry for motorcycles.
  
  Traffic of motorcycles and mopeds is prohibited
• 3.6. No entry for tractors.
  
  Traffic of wheeled tractors and self-propelled machines is prohibited
• 3.7. No entry for trailers.
  
  Traffic of trucks, wheeled tractors and self-propelled machines with trailers, and also towing of power-driven vehicles, is prohibited
• 3.8. No entry for animal-drawn vehicles.
  
  Traffic of animal-drawn vehicles, animals under the saddle or pack, and also cattle driving, is prohibited
• 3.9. No entry for cycles.
  
• 3.10. No entry for pedestrians.
  
• 3.11.1, 3.11.2. Mass limit.
  
  Traffic of vehicles, including road-trains, whose actual mass exceeds the mass limit indicated on the sign
• 3.12.1, 3.12.2. Limit of mass on one axle.
  
  Traffic of vehicles having actual mass on any axle exceeding the one indicated on the sign
• 3.13. Height limit.
  
  Traffic of vehicles whose overall height (with or without cargo) exceeds the one indicated on the sign
• 3.14. Width limit.
  
  Traffic of vehicles whose overall width (with or without cargo) exceeds the one indicated on the sign
• 3.15.1, 3.15.2. Length limit.
  
  Traffic of vehicles whose overall length (with or without cargo) exceeds the one indicated on the sign
• 3.16. Minimum distance limit.
  
  Traffic of vehicles with a distance between them less than the one indicated on the sign
• 3.17.1. Customs.
  
  Passing without stopping at a custom-house (control point) is prohibited. Permission to continue travelling shall be given by a customs officer (control point officer)
• 3.17.2. Danger.
  
  Traffic of all vehicles without exceptions is prohibited in connection with to a road accident, emergency, natural disaster or other danger for the traffic
• 3.18.1. No right turn.
  
• 3.18.2. No left turn.
  
  Left turn to is prohibited, but a U-turn is permitted
• 3.19. No U-turn.
  
  U-turn is prohibited, but a left turn is permitted
• 3.20.1, 3.20.2. Overtaking prohibited.
  
  Overtaking of vehicles other than a single one moving at a speed of less than 30 km/h is prohibited
• 3.20.3. Overtaking prohibited.
  
  Overtaking of vehicles whose speed exceeds the one indicated on the sign is prohibited
• 3.21.1, 3.21.2. End of overtaking prohibition zone.
  
• 3.22. Overtaking by trucks prohibited.
  
  Trucks with technically permissible overall mass of over 3,5 tonnes are prohibited to overtaking vehicles, except for single ones moving at a speed of less than 30 km/h. Wheeled tractors and self-propelled machines are prohibited to overtake vehicles except for single cycles, animal-drawn vehicles
• 3.23. End of overtaking prohibition zone for trucks.
  
• 3.24.1, 3.24.2. Maximum speed limit.
  
  Traffic with a speed (km/h) exceeding the one indicated on the sign is prohibited
• 3.25.1, 3.25.2. End of maximum speed limit zone.
  
• 3.26. Use of audible warning devices prohibited.
  
  Use of audible device is prohibited except for the case of its use to avoid a road accident
• 3.27. Standing prohibited.
  
  Standing and parking of vehicles are prohibited
• 3.28. Parking prohibited.
  
• 3.29. Parking prohibited on odd days of the month.
  
• 3.30. Parking prohibited on even days of the month.
  
  When signs 3.29 and 3.30 are used simultaneously on opposite sides of the road, vehicles must be replaced from one side to another during the period from 19 till 24 hours
• 3.31. End of zone of all restrictions.
  
  Marking of the end of the validity zone of the following signs: 3.16, 3.20.1–3.20.3, 3.22, 3.24.1, 3.24.2, 3.26–3.30
• 3.32. Traffic of vehicles with dangerous goods prohibited.
  
  Traffic of vehicles with marking signs “Dangerous goods” is prohibited
• 19. The signs do not apply:

  — signs 3.1–3.3, 3.18.1–3.19, 3.27 — to route vehicles moving along established routes;

  — signs 3.2–3.8 — to vehicles of road maintenance and municipal services, cars with oblique white line on the sides and to other vehicles servicing commercial and other organizations located in the designated area (citizens living or working in the area), as well as to vehicles belonging to citizens residing or working in the area, in the absence of other opportunities for their entrance. Such vehicles must enter the designated area and leave it at the intersection nearest to the place of destination;

  — signs 3.2, 3.3, 3.28–3.30 — to vehicles being driven by disabled persons of І or ІІ group, ІІІ group with locomotive apparatus disorders or transporting disabled persons of these groups;

  — sign 3.4 — to trucks designated for the carriage of passengers;

  — signs 3.27–3.30 — to places marked with sign 5.15;

  — signs 3.28–3.30 — to taxes with a turned-on taximeter.

• 20. The signs apply:

  — signs 3.10, 3.27–3.30 — only to that side of the road at (over) which they are installed. Signs 3.27–3.30 installed in a territory adjoining to the road apply to this territory having regard to requirements of the panels installed with such signs;

  — signs 3.16, 3.20.1, 3.20.3, 3.22, 3.24.1, 3.24.2, 3.26–3.30 — from the place of installation of the sign to the nearest marked intersection, and in a built-up area without a marked intersection — to the end of the built-up area;

  — signs 3.18.1 и 3.18.2 — to the intersection before which the sign is installed, and also to the nearest crossing of carriageways at the intersection, if the road into which the turn is made has a dividing strip (dividing zone);

  — signs 3.24.1, 3.24.2 installed before a built-up area marked with sign 5.22.1 or 5.22.2, — till that sign.

• 21. The validity zone may be reduced for:

  — signs 3.16, 3.26 — by using panel 7.2.1;

  — signs 3.20.1–3.20.3, 3.22, 3.24.1, 3.24.2 — by installing at the end of their validity zone respectively of the following signs 3.21.1, 3.21.2, 3.23, 3.25.1, 3.25.2 or by using panel 7.2.1;

  — signs 3.24.1, 3.24.2 — by installing these signs with a different meaning of the maximum speed;

  — signs 3.27–3.30 — by using panels 7.2.1, 7.2.2 or by installing at the end of their validity zone of repeated signs 3.27–3.30 with panel 7.2.3.
